The plates are covered with beige leather, richly decorated. There is a narrow, enamelled stripe running along the embossed metal border, showing red and white, four-pointed rosettes with green leaves on both sides, against a blue base. The corners of the frame are enriched with blue, pyramidal ornaments. The longer sides have nine, the shorter ones six metal applications with a pearl in their centre, imitating rosettes. They alternate with the enamel rosettes of the border. The inner corners of the frame are decorated with enamelled coat of arms, flanked by metal application. At the top left, there is the coat of arms of Hungary, the top right presents the Transylvanian, the bottom left the Croatian-Slavonic, while the bottom right the Dalmatian escutcheons, all turned towards the central, ornamental, enamelled initials in red, white and green: T S ZS (Tornyai Schossberger Zsigmond) letter intertwined and surmounted by the baron's coronet.

A seal hangs down on a golden string, decorated with the united coat of arms of the countries ruled by the Hungarian king, with two olive branches. Franz Joseph forced with the royal Hungarian suspended seal and his signature his intention to give the baron's title to Zsigmond Schossbergers and sons: the front depicts the baron's coat of arms of the family (marked with the name of the arms painter, Krahl). The four parchment pages of the diploma are hand-painted and gilt: the second page shows an allegorical scene, the others are filled with handwritten text, in a thin gold and silver frame. The corners of the back plate are equipped with four rosette-like knobs. The diploma is stored in a black leather case lined with silk, which can be closed with a key.
