The stamped gold front shows a string of real pearls, enclosed by a white enamel rim. The back is decorated with a scene, painted in grisaille, against a yellow background: a young couple, sitting on a bench in an arbour, with a fountain behind. The scene is enframed by engraved golden leaves. The edge of the picture is lined with white lobes enclosing small flowers. The rim of the case is also engraved. The oval hanger is decorated with blue enamel. Arabic numerals appear on the white enamel dial, which shows the following inscription: Hessen A. Paris.
