A narrow festoon of golden leaves borders the uncoloured leaf on three sides a painted row of spangles forms the lower border. Three large, irregular fields divide up the surface of the leaf. The borders of these fields are executed in loop-stitched gold braid and spangles. In the middle one is a garden scene: a lady sitting on a garden seat is being helped up by her cavalier, who is holding her hand. Next to the seat a child releases a little bird from a cage. In the fields on either side are love symbols among swirling clouds: on the left two hearts blaze on an altar, above is hung a wreath of roses at the foot of the altar is a blazing torch, a palm branch and a quiver with arrows. On the right a little bird on a ribbon flies out of its opened cage in front of the cage are pipes, a hat and a drum. The spaces between the fields are filled out with coloured festoons of flowers. In the middle of the verso is a small detail of a garden, with a collapsed fence. On the sticks, in the middle, are two girls, and beside each of them two doves flying amongst festoons of flowers. On the upper part of the guard-sticks is a boy playing a recorder the background is semi-transparent mother- of-pearl.
