In the middle, amongst the various motifs—spear- points, stars, sickles, serrated edges, and flowers set out perpendicularly on the narrow sticks, which are lobular at the top—is a circular engraving printed on atlas: a sleeping girl lying on a wheat sheaf with her lover kneeling beside her and holding a garland of roses. Around the engraving is painted a ribbon of flowers. On the rounded tips of the sticks are small leaves painted on a black ground. Numerous similar examples are known in the specialist literature.
