The lace pictures a young girl, her head bent embarrassedly, reaching out her left hand for the boy behind her, who holds a flower in his left. The couple is in the centre of the lace, dressed in folkloric clothing. The picture resembles the carvings of country mirrors. Dékány, when collecting motifs from Hungarian folk art, used mainly the figures of young people, apart from the flowers and animal figures with symbolic meaning. The scene is enframed by pomegranates reaching down from the side and also by excessive leaves. The picture of the young village couple is probably the first variant of the typical country couple, »Jancsi és Juliska» (John and Julie) composition, designed in 1907. This motif has continuously been manufactured since 1907.
