The edge of the long, straight blade is cut in the upper third the blade itself is decorated with engraved gilt foliage. The blade and the edge both curve to a point. The join of the handle is decorated with an engraved gilt arabesque. The finial is a miniature capital, surmounted by two mother-of-pearl sheets, which are joined by two small rivets on each side. The top of the finial is a gilt iron eagle's head.
