Stands on four small copper feet. The outer surface and both sides of the cover are decorated with a concentric, starry intarsia in a rectangular field. The cover could once be removed the inner side shows a large lozenge in a circle in the middle, elaborated with fan motifs. On the sides, the lozenge motif also appears in the corners, although between rosettes. Companion pieces can be found in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, in the St. Petersburg Hermitage and in the Muzej za umjetnost iobrt collection in Zagreb. The piece described above is thought to be of Spanish origin by Batári, oh the basis of the technique of the intarsia however, in view of the analogues, the present writer regards it as more probably originating, from Venice.
