The bodice is stiffened by fish-bones, has a broad, curved décolletage and closes with clasps at the back. The waist-line comes down in a tip at the front. The set-in sleeves are puffed at the shoulders and reach to the elbows. Tulle insets decorate the velvet all round and in V-shape on the sleeves. The tulle is black, trimmed with rows of black pearls and sequins, applied with blue velvet leaves that are enriched with embroidered sequins. The dress is also decorated with volutes and flowers embroidered in sequins. The sleeves are trimmed with tull frills. The skirt reaches the ground, has a tail and is lined by pleated velvet frills. The top shows scattered black sequins, and applied organdie flowers in the centre, with string-of-pearl fringes hanging below. The bottom shows irregular tulle insets, lined by curved rows of sequins and chenille yarn and embroidered with flowery boughs of sequins and pearls.
