The bulging flower pot stands on a broad, short foot. Both sides of its shoulders have a relief lion head, with a ring in their mouth. The bottom and the ringed foot rim is decorated with faced geometrical pattern. The body shows colourful, Japanese-style decoration: there is a flowery-leafy bough on a faded honey-coloured base enriched with flower heads and the use of different shades. The pattern starts diagonally from one of the lion heads, asymmetrically in both directions. On one side there is a polychrome, flowery bough with a butterfly, while the other shows a monochrome, red bough with a polychrome bird. The colours used are the following: yellow, lilac, turquoise, green, white, red, in different shades. The inner surface is turquoise. The gay and rich decoration was modelled on Japanese examples but shows typical traits of European taste. It is an outstanding example of pieces that were considered "naturalistic" by the contemporaries.
