The repousse ladle shows a shield with mantling, charged with three flowers springing from a skull. There is an initial DI below the coat of arms. The name of Peter Bodeker is engraved on the rim. There is also a name and a date engraved on the reverse of the spoon: Johann Freundt 1690. The ladle is joined to the handle by a section decorated with an angel head and leaves. The hexagonal handle is engraved with an inscription: EGO SVM VIA VERITAS ET VITA NEMO VENIT AD PATREM NISI PER ME. The finial is in the form of a Christ figure, his right hand raised in blessing, and holding an orb in his left. He stands on a capital. The spoon might have been a christening gift, the engraved names being those of the godchild and godfather.
