The rectangular plinth is profiled at the bottom, decorated with repousse lines of leaves. The two longer sides show a six-pointed star in a circle, enclosed by string-of-pearls, among rose boughs with flowers and leaves. The two short sides show a female bust in the same string-of-pearl frame. The top corniche has a vertically ribbed protruding rim the detachable top shows the relief figure of a sphinx. The plinth contains two containers for the ink.
