The Falstaff-figure stands in a fencing position on the rectangular plinth. Its body is detachable from the waist-line, concealing the ink well the head hides the powder container and can also be detached. There is an engraved inscription on the plinth, in cursives: So lag ich und so führte ich meine Klinge (So I lay down and so I led my blade).
