The rectangular shape has indentations at the four rounded corners to support the cigarette. The ornaments rise out of the surface. In the bowl there is a fish amidst waves and bubbles. The green glaze on the plastic decoration is so thin that the white glaze under it shows through.

The Budapest Zsolnay factory produced Géza Gorka’s designs from 1946 until 1948 when the factory was nationalized. The characteristic formal idiom and ornamental motifs of the artist are also conspicuous on the pieces mass-produced with factory technology.

Marked: on the back the combined sign of the Budapest Zsolnay factory and Géza Gorka can be found: the letter Z in the corona of the sun with Gorka written under it.
