On each side of the blue marbled base are floral ornaments in white fields, with a rococo cartouche in the middle. A cross stands in the middle. It has a brown graining-painting. The agony of Christ on the cross is painted with naturalistic colours his loin-cloth is purple. Above his head is a panel with the inscription "INRI". On the two sides of the cross stand the Virgin and St. John, both having a nimbus. The Virgin wears a purple and blue dress St. John's dress is red and green. At the foot of the cross is St. Mary Magdalene on her knees her dress is white, purple and yellow. The figures are fastened with pegs to the base.
According to Kybalova the model for the work was a Meissen piece by Kändler made in 1743.
Marks are on the bottom of the base: H with black, and on the figure of St. Mary Magdalene H P with manganese.
It is presumably the work of Antal Schweiger who was active in Holics between 1756 and 1768.
