The colourless, transparent, slightly flattened bell- shaped glass cup stands on a horny, striped, chrome green stem, which is supported by a splaying foot. The cup shows two grotesque figures and two empty cartouches among Neo-Renaissance ornaments. There are several rolled lines of spots among the ornaments. The cup is of an outstanding quality among Hungarian, carved, historicizing glass pieces. The foot is shaped while hot, reviving the traditions of decorated foundry glass. The carving of the cup is also a model standard of cold decoration thus, this piece is a synthesis of the two ways of glass decoration. The shaping of the stem recalls certain nineteenth century römer types.
