The horizontally ribbed horn-shaped foot sup-poses a hollow ring on which the hemispherical bottom of the splaying, cylindrical body stands. The cover is hemispherical and hollow, equipped with a high, drop-shaped finial standing on a bun. The whole surface of the cup is scattered with glittering silvery flakes the edge of the foot, and the ball-shaped bottom and top part of the body are decorated with a row of blue beads upon a gilt stripe. The dents of the body and foot and the edges are enriched with gilt lines the bulging parts of the body and the cover are also gilt.
The junctures of the cover are emphasized by gilt circles, and, similarly to the body, they are decorated with blue glass beads on golden stripes. The shape and the decoration of the cup show the influence of German Renaissance goldsmiths' art.
A cup decorated with similar technique can be found in the collection of the Prague Museum of Applied Arts (see W. Spiegel: Glas des Historismus. Braunschweig, 1980, p.166, pict.202), which was made by the Mey'r Neffe, Adolf im Böhmerwald company for the J. & . L. Lobmeyr firm.
