Flower pot

The straight, ringed foot supports a bulging body, with a plain, round top rim. The inside is dark blue. There is a stripe bordering the top rim painted in gray over black, just like the colours of the body decoration. At the foot there are delicate reed stems, with six flying wild geese above, their feathers and beaks shaded with brown and greenish lazure painting overglaze. The whole surface is made slightly iridescent with a touch of metallic lustre. The effect of the decoration is reminiscent of classical works of Japanese black lacquer with mother-of-pearl inlays. The so-called “lustre faience” pieces of Emil Fischer's factory are, from a technical point of view, the most refined of quality products.
