The cover of the mechanism is engraved with “J. Ferrier et fils 5898”. The front shows leaved foliage against a light blue enamel framework. The rim is fluted. The scene painted in grisaille, against a dark blue background, in a frame of light blue enamel shows young lovers in a garden. There are trees and an ornamental vase of laurel garlands, placed on a post. The hanger is oval. The arms and the key are gilt.
