The upper edge of the brown leaf is embellished with stylized garland ornamentation and the middle with the monogram FP in a round field framed by spangles. The remaining surface of the leaf is decorated with a winding, cloud-like pattern. The sticks and guard- sticks have small, delicate pieced leaf and festoon ornamentation, their special feature being the alternation of wood and bone (two sticks of wood are followed by two of bone). The guard-sticks are made of wood, with a narrow frame of bone on the upper part.
