Within Oriental-style frame ornamentation utilizing multicoloured and various motifs—grid, dot and cloud patterns, fruits and flowers—is a scene in a garden: a cavalier is standing beside two young ladies sitting beneath a tree. To the left of the group there is another young man, sitting on the ground up against a stone, and with a sheet of paper in his hand. In the background is an island with a building on it. On the verso there is the picture of an island overgrown with bushes above it is a garland of flowers as broad as the leaf itself. The sticks have serrated edges, with a distinctive pierced pattern on the bottom in the shape of the letter S written back to front the upper third for its part is embellished with a ribbon-like pattern. On the upper part of each of the guard-sticks is the winged figure of a child, Amor, among scallop and flower ornamentation, a quiver(?) in his hands.
