A row of flowers in white and very faint green painted onto the white silk leaf follows the arch of the leaf. The petals and leaves were contoured using silver paint. Running beneath the flowers is a ribbon-like motif, with spangles. Beneath that are scattered small bouquets of flowers. The white-painted sticks are embellished with pressed garlands of flowers, and the guard-sticks with scallop and leafy tendril ornamentation. The donor carried this fan at her first ball.
