In the middle of the pastel-coloured leaf four young ladies can be seen playing croquet a fifth, seated on a chair and at a slight distance from the players, is watching them. On each side there are flowers, with dragonflies flitting among them. On the sticks there are butterflies amidst gilded festoons of flowers.
