The very plain, pastel-green ground is divided into five fields by spiral ornamentation reaching down from the strip of lace bordering its upper edge. In the middle a female figure (Venus?) very lightly and loosely dressed
and resting in a hammock is making a winged putto (Amor?) with hands tied behind his back kneel in punishment beside a flower-cup. On either side there are two fields, in each of which a winged putto is playing on a swing among the flowers. Behind the right-hand guard-stick is the mark: Alexandre. The chatoyant sticks bear Late Baroque ornamentation.
