In the middle of the leaf—which has slanting wallpaper- like stripes and wavy, pink- and green-leafed tendril ornamentation—there is an idyllic garden scene in an irregular medallion: two ladies and a young man sit under a tree one of the ladies is holding a garland of flowers, and in the man's lap is a basket of flowers. On either side of the scene there are scattered bouquets of roses. On the verso can be seen an undulating, bushy landscape. The embellishment characteristic of the sticks is an alternating flower garland and flower basket pattern on a ground of perpendicularly arranged grids and dotted areas. On the guard-sticks there is a boy playing a flute.
