Three oval-shaped medallions divide up the blue leaf, which is bordered by gold scallop motifs and festoons of flowers (in the arches of the festoons there are coloured flowers). In the middle, among clouds, are four naked putti, perhaps representing the four seasons. On each side is a half-length portrait of a young woman. Each medallion has a frame of gold leaves. On the verso, in a frame of leaves and roses, a shepherdess in a melancholy pose sits on a small island. Among the floral embellishments on the sticks is the portrait of a woman, flanked by two putti, in the middle of a perpendicular grid pattern. The upper part of each guard-stick is likewise ornamented with a perpendicular grid pattern in the middle of each is a portrait of a man and which respectively, above whom a putto balances a basket of flowers on his head.
