Pink and gold scallop, flower and tendril patterns on a white ground give rise to five (?) irregularly shaped fields. In each of these there is a picture of a couple (from left to right): sitting next to each other, the young man reading to his sweetheart, the lovers walking, the young man before his sweetheart and about to set out on a journey, and the last so fragmentary that it cannot be interpreted. On the verso is a scene printed in gold: a young, Rococo couple are conversing on a terrace. The sticks are fashioned like branches. On the guard-sticks there is a bouquet made up of a number of different types of flower. The upper edge of the leaf is bordered by lily of the valley. A similar fan embellished with artificial flowers in the collection is MAA inv. no. 70.92 (Cat. No. 109).
