On the leaf, which is framed by lush, chinoiserie-style plant ornamentation with stylized leaf motifs in between, there is an idyllic scene in the middle of a small island. A young man is showing a little bird in his hand to a girl standing next to him another girl sits watching them with her elbow on a column (?). On the edge of the island there is a trellis with vines, in the background there are buildings among trees, and, in the distance, a sailboat. On the verso, in a frame similar to that of the recto, a young woman in a sketchily painted landscape offers her bow and an arrow to a child standing in front of her behind the female figure stands a young man with a flower in his hand. On the serpentine sticks chinoiserie flowers weave down to the very bottom. Among the similar embellishments on the guard-sticks there are small pieces of mother-of- pearl inlay. The bottom end of each guard-stick is scallop-shaped.
