At the top the black silk leaf is embellished with uncoloured intertwined tendril motifs contoured with gold yarn at the bottom it is adorned with flowers with small red and blue heads joined together in a garland¬like way. Onto the sticks and guard-sticks have been pressed Renaissance-style acanthus tendrils growing from vases. To the handle is attached a black silk cord and silk bobble.
