Beneath the dark-lilac ribbon holding together the lobular sticks, a wide band consisting of cropped greenish-purplish-blackish chatoyant feathers arches across the surface of the fan. The very same band is repeated above the lobes, in such a way that short, black ostrich feathers grow out of it. On one of the guard-sticks is a prince's coronet in silver. A dark-lilac silk cord and ring are attached to the ring holder on the handle.
