This unusually constructed fan is made in such a way that a second leaf was put onto the lace leaf mounted on the sticks. Since there are no ribs behind it, this second leaf lacks rigidity. At the top this leaf is ornamented with a row of palmette-like leaves, on the surface, however, there is flower ornamentation around heart shapes. The black sticks are embellished using stylized plant motifs. A thin black silk cord and tassel are attached to the handle. The lace leaf at the top was probably produced by a minor manufactory in Belgium.
