As well as the beauty of the light beige and cherry-red silk and the chatoyant mother-of-pearl, the fine carving on the sticks—three medallions, each with a bouquet of flowers, symmetrically placed among plant ornamentation—gives the fan a resplendent look. A beige silk cord and a tassel of beige and cherry red are attached to the handle. Similar sticks are to be found on the fan MAA inv no. 54.1621 (Cat. No. 128).
