A festoon of roses and leaves frames the uncoloured leaf. In the middle a young man sitting beneath a tree is showing a birdcage to, or opening it for, his sweetheart sitting opposite him. Between the two of them a child with a shepherd's crook is watching the young man. From either side of the scene a flower stretches to the edge of the leaf. In circular fields, among the flowers or hanging next to the festoons, are motifs referring to love: burning hearts on or without altars, a quiver and doves. The sticks alternate between those with geometric ornamentation and those with a row of pearls. On the guard-sticks, at the top, a pair of doves can be seen.
