The white, lobular leafs are embellished with scattered circular steel spangles. The leaf and branch ornamentation of the sticks is enriched by steel inlay. A thin white silk cord and tassel are attached to the pressed handle. The adhesive remaining on the versos of the leaves indicates that-as was general with fans of this type and period-they were bordered with down. A similar piece in the collection is MAA inv. no. 80.723 (Cat. No. 116).
