In the middle of the black inset, which follows the edges of the vegetation in the broad, black lace frame embellished with different flowers and leaves, there is an idyllic scene executed in pastel colours: among trees, a winged amoretto is whispering into the ear of a young, bare-footed girl leaning on a fence made from thin tree trunks in front of them his companion kneels in the grass, his quiver beside him. The mark is in the bottom right: F Houghton. On the silver-grey, green and pink chatoyant sticks there are small pierced flowers on the guard-sticks at the top there is a festoon of flowers in an S-shaped frame, and scattered flowers. A piece of identical type and mark in the collection is MAA inv. no. 80.721 (Cat. No. 154). Another such example can be found in the Shirer collection in Boston, Mass.
