In five places-symmetrically arranged-leaves climb up to this frame. The surface of the leaf is filled out by three bouquets displaying point de rose influence. These are made up of various flowers. The sticks are unembellished the ribs are pierced through with holes alternating with S-shaped tendrils. Inside the box, which is covered in unembellished black silk and which has an embossed lift-up top, there is the gilded company mark: Manufre Royale de Dentelles / Mon Boval Sr / 96 Rue Royale / BRUXELLES. The inner edge of the box is trimmed with gilded paper. Other Chantilly lace fans in the collection: MAA inv. nos. 54.2894 and 54.2963 (Cat. Nos. 113 and 144).
