There are garlands of roses with leaves and claspers in a five-lobed field enframed with rows of small leaves and flowers, the corners and the space between the lobes are decorated with rosettes in cartouches that are surmounted by long oval leaves. The whole surface of the lace is enriched with points, small leaves and rosettes. It is a typical representative of needle laces made in Brussels around 1860, characterized by a high technical standard but often repeated pattern stereotypes. Several variants are known.
