The concave surface on the plate is decorated with a scene of a grape feast wedding, enclosed by a frame of stylised flowers. The young couple is surrounded by wedding guests to the left there is a man playing the violin and another playing the contra-bass. To the left a figure with a pistol amuses himself. The dresses are typically Hungarian, like in the scene of a "folklore drama".
The shape can be identified as façon number 470 (1878). The décor of the plate is identified with Nos.551-552 (1881). An identical scene is depicted on a flask in the Janus Pannonius Museum in Pécs, Inv.No. 51.1075. (See Hárs, Éva: Zsolnay kerámia /Zsolnay ceramics/. Pécs, 1988, 11).
A possible companion piece of the plate, with a vine-harvesting scene, can be found in the collection of the Kolozsvár Historical Museum (see Bunta, Magda. In. 100 eves a Pécsi Porcelángyár /The 100th anniversary of the Porcelain Factory in Pécs/, Resource book, Pécs, 1971. Eds. Hárs, Éva and Mándoki, László, p. 119, No. 17). About the decor design, Teréz Zsolnay remarks in her memoirs (Zsolnay 1974 p.110) that Ármin Klein made a large flask with folklore wedding and vine harvesting scenes on the sides.
