In the middle of this tapestry, made with a unique technique, there is the copper cover of a Hodegetria-type icon below that the place of the faces is filled with black base textile. The icon is surrounded by the base material as a frame – the base textile itself is woven using various shades of gold and silver threads, made out of rectangles of various sizes, resembling a stylised house various small metal objects (rusty nails, coins, keys, bullet cases, chocolate moulds and the pieces of a bug device) were applied into its weft, similarly to offers. The work, reflecting on the experience of the Romanian revolution of December 1989 is part of the icon paraphrases of Zsuzsa Péreli as opposed to her earlier works (the Child Madonna, Mary) the faces of Mary and the Child are not presented here – the abstract darkness of the space in their place is in contrast with the stressed physicality of the objects hanged around it, referring to a specific historic event and to the faith of individuals.
