The versatile actor, graphic designer and writer, Kálmán Rozsnyay, made a great number of ex libris, combining the most different influences in his oeuvre. Since he spent a long time in England, he was strongly affected by the drawings of Crane. In his ex libris pieces, he mainly depicted elegant, refined ladies, and female busts. On the one made for Lajos Leopold, there is a meditating woman among stylized roses and leaves, and, in contrast, a skull, referring to the symbols of life and death.
