After his trip to Japan (1900-1901), Orlik studied various technical solutions. The Japanese influence contributed to the richness of his colours: the dancing No-actor with the fan is depicted in front of a golden background. The gloss of his brocade clothing is also reflected by the fine gold dust, his only decoration is the OE initials of the artist. Orlik writes his name on a narrow, vertical ribbon on the side, similar to the titles of Japanese woodcuts. His ex libris pieces were generally made with colour lithography, although he was in home at all fields of graphic art.
