The ex libris drawings of Joseph Sattler are characterized by archaic tendencies. For a long time, he worked in the spirit of the sixteenth century, his works often inspired by Dürer. In this case, the endpaper and the universal (no name) ex libris was designed together (he had done this several times in his oeuvre, see Greiber 1903 p. 445), using the motifs of coiling tendrils, an ink jar and a pen.
