The twelve oval frames have the following ornament: a small canopy at the top with a burning heart below on the two sides scroll and foliage motifs. Below, in two cartouches of foliated scrolls, the black-printed inscriptions of the names of the apostles. In the middle, covered with glass on a natural coloured silk base with close buttonhole stitch are the half-length portraits of the apostles with their attributes. The faces and hands are made with smaller stitches, the cloaks and the back-ground with bigger ones. The half-length portraits are framed with satin-stitch embroidered bands of metal thread decorated with bouillon.
