Oval shaped, with a wide rim divided into four large foils. In the middle of each are cast angel heads fastened with screws. The motifs of the elaborate decoration show the stylistic characteristics of the beginning of the 17th century: shells, cartouches and scrolls. Analogous pieces are the silver dish made about 1630 by Hans Maulbrunner in the Art Collection of Uppsala University, and an ewer and basin of Hieronymus Sailer from 1620— 1630 in the Kestner Museum in Hanover. This work of Christoph Wild must have been used as a basin, as its decorations do not show religious references. The ewer is missing. The master's and the city marks are on the interior of the rim.
