In 1898, there was an exhibition in the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts, introducing the awarded works of art participating in the national competition of applied arts schools in England, organized by the British Science and Art Department. Some of the exhibited objects were acquired by the museum, among them this design, a typical Art Nouveau piece in its atmosphere, delicate colours and motifs, which was awarded a gold medal.
