The broad foot of a splaying rim rises conically in the centre, supporting a fluted, strawberry-shaped body, which continues in a thin neck and a broad, frilled top. On one side, there is a stirrup handle connecting the top with the body. The whole surface of the jug glitters in gold - due to the copper aventurine material the optical decoration of the foot and body is emphasized, striped with spots and lines. The handle is striped with opaque white. The jug is the nineteenth century variation of the Greek oenochoe form - the broad spout is transformed in a wavy top rim, the body is slimmer the material and technique, on the other hand, follows the traditions of Renaissance Venetian-Murano glass.
