The upper part of the long, narrow case is gold-plated the inside is hollow, containing the knife and the chopstick. The elaborately decorated blade shows a gilt foliage inlay over the silver base the handle is gold, ending in a knobbed finial. The handle of the long, straight chopstick is gold, jointed, ending in an ornamental knob.
