The short, cylindrical cup stands on a flat foot, and is equipped with a serpent handle ending in a lion figure. Among the embossed horizontal lines of palmettes and acanthus leaves are antique-style ornaments, enclosing a wreath of leaves. The inscription in the wreath is: "Un bien fait n’ est jamais perdu" (A good deed is never in vain). The saucer has a rising rim its outside is embossed with a line of leaves, while the surface is decorated with reddish-brown antique motifs among embossed golden stripes.
