It is known from documents that crosses of cast iron were made at the Munkacs iron factory from 1820 on. The models were imported from Ger-many, in different sizes, depending on the purpose the cross was made for: for use in church or in private houses. The foot was always the same a plinth of two levels, decorated with a gilt string of pearls, supporting a block. The front is deco-rated with wreaths of vine boughs and ears of wheat. The figure of the crucified Christ is placed on the cross, which springs from the block.
