The thick, rectangular knot comb is sawed of yellow, transparent hom. The symmetrical silver decoration is pierced, cast, riveted on the comb. There is a yellow, ballshaped calcedony cabochon in the centre, in a closed setting. There is a handwritten marking scratched on the back (probably by the original owner) «Ch. B. de Monvel», which is also supported by the initials of the maker's mark. The original owner had bought the comb at the 1900 Paris International Exhibition (a handwritten note in the manuscript A szecesszio 1959).
