The wavy line of the double footing holds the slit-and-tongue section, which consists of lath ribs crossing each other. One side is elongated, serving as a curved back support. The top of the back is tiered, with a nine-pointed "coronet" in the middle. The whole surface of the chair is covered with rows of geometrical motifs and stars. The collapsible chair origins from the Ancient Times and survives in Hungarian furniture making as the folding chair. The chair described above is a variation of the type, decorated with oriental motifs but made for western export.
